President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, describing her as his “truest friend and confidante” and praising her for standing by him through the different seasons of their lives.
In a heartfelt birthday message ahead of her birthday on September 21, the President reflected on their journey together, highlighting his wife’s patience, grace, courage and unwavering faith.
Tinubu said Oluremi had remained by his side through difficult periods, adding that she had often provided counsel even before he asked for it.
“I call you my truest friend and confidante because you speak the truth plainly, even on the days I would rather not hear it,” the President said.
He also praised her contribution to their family, noting that their children and grandchildren had grown under the influence of her prayers, faith and values of kindness.
The President acknowledged his wife’s humanitarian efforts, recalling her work through the New Era Foundation during their years in Lagos and the Renewed Hope Initiative, which she leads today.
According to Tinubu, her humanitarian activities have touched the lives of young boys and girls, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers across the country.
He also commended her advocacy for people affected by tuberculosis and other diseases, describing her as a compassionate advocate and determined champion for those in need.
Tinubu said Oluremi’s compassion had extended beyond ethnic, regional and religious boundaries, adding that she had helped many people without necessarily meeting them personally.
Reflecting on their marriage, the President said they had travelled a long road together, sharing difficult decisions, sacrifices, laughter and prayer.
“If life returned me to the beginning, I would choose the same road that led me to you,” Tinubu declared.
“Through every mile, my heart has always remained at home with you,” he added.
The President expressed gratitude for the life they had built together and the love that had sustained their family.
“Happy 66th birthday, my darling Oluremi,” he said, praying that God would grant her many more years of good health and joy.
He also wished her comfort and happiness in the years ahead, saying she deserved the same joy and support she had given to him and many others.
