Ondo Poll: Akeredolu, Jegede, Ajayi Cast their votes as Rain Delays Voting in Some Places

The governorship election in Ondo State kicked off Saturday with the leading contenders casting their votes, amidst heavy rainfall.

 

Rotimi Akeredolu, the governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, voted with his wife at Polling Unit 6, Ward 5 at Isokub,  in Ijebu Owo area of the state.

 

The other major candidates in the contest are Akeredolu’s deputy, who is the candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, Agboola Ajayi, and the People’s Democratic Party’s flagbearer,  Eyitayo Jegede.

 

The ZPL candidate cast his vote at about 10.32 a.m at Apoi Ward II, Unit 004.

 

Also, Jegede voted at Gbogi/Isikan 1, PU: 10, at Scared Heart Primary School in Akure South polling unit.

 

The voting process was slowed down by a heavy rainfall in various parts of the state.
